“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.”
Dear Friends, Spring is getting ever so much closer! The air is warmer, the fish are biting, and the trees are restoring their leaves! We are working to revitalize the flowerbeds with some new plants, and we want to highlight some activities from this past month!
A few weekends ago, there was a lovely wedding here at the Landing. When Kim went to check on the ceremony, she found a unique surprise: Some of the men were fishing! Our small pond usually just enhances the natural beauty of the grounds, but that day, it added a bit of sportsmanship, too. Even one of the “little guys” had his rod and reel ready for the adventure. Crappie and bass were introduced to the pond through a catch-and-release strategy years ago, and who knows how large they’ve grown! I truly hope they caught something. While many guests were focused on the beautiful scenery, these men were busy making memories. How many people can say they went fishing during a wedding? Not many, I’m sure!
Another aspect of this wedding was the wonderful cakes provided by a business in West Memphis. Cakes by Mom and Me LLC created a pair of spectacular cakes. The bride’s cake was a white multi-tiered cake. The groom’s cake was designed to look like a log. The cake snob (Kim) claims these cakes were some of the best-tasting cakes she’s had.
Finally, we added to the flower beds in front of the Landing. In a few weeks, there will be some Hostas, Cosmos, Bleeding hearts, and Lilly of the Valley blooming. For those looking to have a wedding in the beauty of these flowers, there are still weekends available in May, July, and August. Call today to find the perfect date for your memorable wedding.
