The Natural Beauty of Lynn’s Landing

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
— Matthew 6:26

Dear Friends, Crowley’s Ridge and Lynn’s Landing have such beautiful flora and fauna that any person would be lucky to see. The natural biome in this area of Arkansas shows plenty of wildlife unique to North America and the United States.

The various plants and trees scattered across this landform create the basis of this biome. As you tour Lynn’s Landing, you may find some attractive native flowers, like honeysuckles and wild lilies. The American Persimmon trees produce some handsome little fruit in the fall, while wild blackberries flower up in the spring. Native to North America is the Muscadine, a sweet, thick-skinned grape. As you tour Lynn’s Landing, keep an eye out for the gorgeous oak and dogwood trees!

So many magnificent creatures surround Lynn’s Landing, and you may be able to catch a glimpse of these creatures around the pond and woods. Some moths and butterflies frequent the area, including the North American Luna Moth and the well-known migrant, the Monarch Butterfly. White-tailed deer travel through the woods around the Landing, and eastern cottontail rabbits may be found in the underbrush. Box Turtles and pond sliders live in the small pond out front. The wild creatures may make an appearance, especially if you have a nighttime reception at Lynn’s Landing.

If you see a glimpse of color in the trees, look closely. There are brightly colored birds that make an appearance at various times of the year. One common bird is the Cardinal. The male is easy to spot with his red plumage, but the female is usually not too far behind. Every spring there is a pair of Canadian geese that live and travel between the Landing’s pond and the larger pond next door. Right now they have six goslings, but that number can vary from year to year. You can hear the sounds of the Mockingbirds and other songbirds echoing in the woods. If you listen closely, you may discover a woodpecker in the tall trees.

Lynn’s Landing is in the heart of nature, creating an environment for a stunning wedding or event. Nothing can compare to the beauty of God’s creation and the natural world. Visit our gallery and book a tour with the understanding that the great outdoors is the right place to stay!
